UTAU is Cool 2: Electric bungaloo
I've figured out to how to modify speed and power(?) of defoko's voice, while making it sound somewhat better/more natural (to me). With the help of these and just playing around with UTAU and Audacity:
First of all, I used defoko VCV for this, openUTAU and I used the MT flag from moresampler, the UST is by Mattsuran, the only thing I did is some tuning, used the MT flag and fixed some of the phoneme thingies so that defoko would actually sing them. Everything else is done through audacity.
By default, Defoko has basically no high frequency, the high frequency it has (10KHz to 20KHz) is bad and I remove it before doing anything else.
Plot Spectrum:
Defoko Stock (823.2 KiB MP3)To remove it, I just did a pre-eq to remove 10KHz to 20KHz:
EQ of 10-20KHz (64.0 KiB PNG)But now we have another issue with high freq, there isn't any, and it sounds hella off, but with harmony enhancer and the options vsratochan shows in their video (I still don't know how they work, so, I got some reading to do still, eyy?). This adds our high freq. And I think this is enough for a lot of songs, but I feel like doing this, you lose in any sort of speed defoko gives. There is also a lack of a 3rd harmony, (fundemental being around 260hz, and the other one being at around 520hz) but from the analysis of the other voicebanks that メカニカルガール@第0研究 gives, those other voicebanks *have* a 3rd harmony. Here is how it sounds just like this:
Defoko without 3rd harmony (1.0 MiB MP3)So I used a 2nd pre-eq, you can now see a 3rd harmony, it also has more speed. here's how it sounds, if you have a better way of doing this, please tell me, I'm sure there is a better way of doing this:
Defoko with 3rd harmony (1.0 MiB MP3)So, I guess you can eq voices? I wonder what this does to other voicebanks, I wonder what else just doing this type of thing can do, well continue playing and learning. For now, however, I will leave you with this.
